EMMC is Cablenet Electrical’s specialist electricity meter management service for municipalities and utilities. It covers single- and three-phase meter installation, meter audits and verification, AMR (Automated Meter Reading) revenue management, electrification programmes for informal settlements, prepaid meter upgrades, and pre- and post-inspection audits.
Under an active contract with EMC Associates for the Ekurhuleni Municipal Energy Department (Boksburg, Germiston and Alberton, July 2023 to June 2026), Cablenet Electrical has electrified 1,215 households across three settlement areas (Delmore Hostels, Tokyo Sexwale and Buhle Park), audited and normalised more than 10,708 meters across five completed areas, and upgraded metering infrastructure for 303 households. These figures are drawn from the company’s Special Projects Department report dated 27 April 2026.
This specialist capability sits alongside a documented government contract track record exceeding R77,856,527 in completed value with the City of Ekurhuleni, spanning contracts from 2018 to the present.
